Steven Fisher is a career global finance professional 

Steven Fisher worked for thirty-five years in the emerging markets with Citibank. His last two assignments, spanning sixteen years, were in the former Soviet Union where he served in senior leadership roles in Moscow, Russia and in Kyiv, Ukraine. 

Steven Fisher has frequently spoken at finance and policy forums, including those sponsored by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), International Finance Corporation (IFC), CFA Society, Euromoney, Adam Smith, U.S. Ukraine Business Council, New Ukraine Investment Conference and the Atlantic Council. Recently, in June 2020, the Atlantic Council in Washington D.C. published Fisher’s study, “New Challenges and Dwindling Returns For Russia’s National Champions, Gazprom and Rosneft,” co-authored with Swedish economist Anders Åslund. 

Steven Fisher has lectured at universities in the markets where he has served including St. Petersburg State University Graduate School of Management in Russia, Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics in Ukraine and Loyola University Chicago. He received a Master of Science degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University. He speaks fluent Russian.
